We aspire to build the ecosystems for Indonesian youth and women to develop local solutions for sustainable development
Indonesia has seen rapid economic growth in the past 40 years. However, the rampant development has caused massive negative impacts on the socio-cultural and environmental ecosystems.
Top-down solutions have not proven to solve fundamental issues on the ground and have disempowered rural communities from using their local wisdom to design their own sustainable future.
>1,2 million Indonesian youth are still struggling to have jobs. 60% of them live in rural areas.
61% of daily waste in Indonesia is leaked, while 39% was mismanaged after collection.
2 million hectares of customary lands, home to over 50 million adat communities, are threatened by deforestation.
Rural communities in the archipelago hold so much valuable local wisdom and generational traditions that have proven to work inline with our ecosystems.
